Benefits of Reciting Surah Al-Asr

and is also the second shortest Section of Furqan e Hameed after Surah Al-Kawthar. Despite having just three verses, it is considered to be the essence of the entire Holy Quran, as it is a tremendous means of salvation. This Surah brings one`s focus towards four basic Islamic ideologies and beliefs, which result in attaining a state of rectitude and decency in all issues of life. The Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran in Surah Al-Asr: “By the time, indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.” (Quran, 103: 1-3)
In this Surah three important things mentioned:
The time form the creation of this universe to the day of judgment
The Duration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
Salat-ul-Asr (Prayer of Asr)
This surah advises those who believe to act cooperatively to strengthen their position in the Hereafter. It signifies asking and inviting people to do righteous deeds and stopping them from falling into sin and disbelief. Allah (SWT) is Making Oath here, Allah swears by Al-Asr that mankind is in the state of loss, except those who are on the right path Siratul Mustaqim, Do Good deeds, having patience, and speaks the truth.
Benefits of Reciting Surah Al-Asr
The person who recites Surah Al-Asr in his regular prayers will have a shining face on the Day of Judgment
The reciters of this Surah will be patient in adversity and will be considered the people of truth
If this surah is written after ‘Isha prayers and kept, it will be a safety from the tyrant ruler in whose presence one is brought
This Surah is best for increasing the love and harmony between people
Recitation of Surah Al-Asr increases patience and steadfastness
Surah Al-Asr recitation motivates us to do the right deeds, have patience and also recommend to have the patience with others
The main Emphasis of this Surah is on the importance of time, have strong faith in Almighty Allah, carry out the righteous deeds, calling each other to the truth and recommending each other towards patience
Surah Al-Asr stresses greatly on the importance of time and its implications on the life of a Muslim, which lies in passing time with respect to the core principles of the Islamic faith.
