Best Times to Make Dua (Supplication)

The acceptance of dua depends on many factors one of the major factor is the “ time ” of making dua. There are certain timings in which there are more chances of the acceptance of dua.
1. Last third of the Night:
It is narrated by Abu Hurairah that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said:
In the last third of every night Allah descends to the lowermost heaven and say:
“Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?”
2. Between Adhan & Iqama
It was narrated that Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“ Supplication that is made between adhan and Iqamah is never rejected.” [Ahmed 1220, Abu Dawood 521]
3. Late at Night:
As the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“ During the night there is a time when the Muslim does not ask for the good of this world and the Hereafter but it will be given to him, and that happens every night ” [Narrated by Muslim, 757]
The Messenger of Allah said:
“ There is an hour during the night in which no Muslim bondman will ask Allah for good in this world and the next but He will grant it to him”. [Sahih Muslim 757 b ]
4. An Hour in Friday:
Friday is the most important and blessed day of the week for Muslims. Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA) Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said in a hadith:
“There is no day more virtuous than Friday. There is such an hour in this day that no Muslim will make dua in it except that his dua will be accepted. And he does not seek protection from anything except that Allah will grant him protection.” (Tirmidhi).
5. During the Rain:
It is narrated that Prophet of Allah said:
“ Two supplications will not be rejected, Supplication when the Adhan (call of prayer) is being called, and at the time of the rain ” [Al-Hakim 2: 114, and Abu Dawood #2540, ibn Majah].
6. During Traveling:
The dua of a traveler would not be reject because during traveling a person get closer to Allah. If the trip is for a good reason then the chances of acceptance of dua increase and if the trip is for any bad reason then dua would be accepted. As the messenger of Allah said:
“Three supplications will not be rejected by Allah the supplication of the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveler “. [alBayhaqi, at-Tirmidhi – Sahih]
7. In Sujood
When a Muslim is in his Salat (prayer) he is facing Allah (SWT) and when he prostrates, he is the nearest he can be to Allah (SWT) so it is best to invoke Allah (SWT) at this time. Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said:
“ The nearest a slave can be to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so invoke (supplicate) Allah (SWT) much in it”

9. At the End of Salaat
It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is most likely to be listened to?’He(PBUH) said:
