IGP Reads Riot Act To Would-be Perpetrators Of Electoral Violence

Ahead of the 2015eneral elections, the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mr Suleiman Abba has read the riot act to potential trouble makers.

Mr Abba warned that the police would not tolerate any act of intimidation, soliciting for votes on the day of the elections, illegal possession of arms and dangerous weapons.

Addressing a conference of Senior Officers and Commissioners of Police at the force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP, said whoever dares to take laws into his hands would be arrested and prosecuted.

He assured all Nigerians and residents that the Nigeria Police Force would remain impartial and provide a level playing ground for all contestants but reiterated that any one caught trying to disrupt the elections would be dealt with.
